Vaccination Requirements at
Shelburne Pet Center
Rabies: Dogs must be current on a 1 year or 3 year Rabies vaccination
DA2PP: Adult dogs must have Distemper/Parvo vaccination within the past year. Puppies must have a minimum of 2 boosters.
Bordetella (Kennel Cough): Dogs must have received a Bordetella vaccination within the past year. If your dog has never had a Bordetella vaccine, an intranasal vaccination must be given a minimum of 7 days prior to visiting SPC.
As of September 1, 2017 all dogs coming into SPC will be required to have the Influenza Vaccine. It requires an initial vaccine and then a booster approximately two-three weeks later. We advise it being done a MINIMUM of 2 weeks prior to boarding, like other vaccines. Vaccinations trigger an immune system response within your pet and that on top of boarding stress will make them more susceptible to picking up viruses.
Rabies: Cats must be current on a 1 year or 3 year Rabies vaccination.
Feline Distemper: Cats must be have Feline Distemper vaccination within the past year. Kittens must have a minimum of 2 boosters.
*Cats exposed to the outdoors at home must also have a current Feline Leukemia vaccination.
Adequate titers run within the past year are accepted.
*Written consent from your vet explaining alternative vaccination protocol due to age or health conditions will be considered.
*Shelburne Pet Center only recognizes vaccinations given by veterinarians / veterinary clinics. We DO NOT recognize over the counter vaccinations.
*We recommend having your pet vaccinated at least 2 weeks prior to visiting the center.
*Your pet MUST have a veterinary flea control product within the past 30 days.
